The Monroe County Fair will be kicking off this year in exciting and honorable style! All community members are invited to join us in the Exhibit Building to help celebrate the start of another great Fair in Albia on Monday, July 27nd starting at 7:00 p.m. The event will begin with a special presentation honoring and raising the flags on the grounds. Honors and awards will be presented during this event by the Monroe County Fair Board and Monroe County Extension and will include some great scholarship’s being given to very deserving 4-H & FFA Seniors of the Class of 2026. The opening ceremony event will be capped off with the crowning of the 2026 Fair King & Queen which is always an amazing celebration to watch as these very deserving youth vie for the crown under the volunteer efforts of Lynnette Major and Cindy Cronin! The 2025 Queen will be turning the royalty over and crowing the new reigning Queen for 2026. Ice Cream and cake will be served to everyone following the ceremony. We invite everyone to see the great additions prior to the opening of the 2026 Monroe County Fair.
Admission Information for Thursday July 30, and August 1st, 2026
Will be bringing us a great show on Thursday July 30th , Open Class starts 3:00 pm-MPA Event starts at 6:30 pm Pit gates open at 2:00pm -Open Class Driver & Entry - $30.00 - Single Pit Entry $20.00 per person with signed waiver General Admission Ticket windows open at 2:30 p.m. MPA - They have their own rules we follow for puller entries. Cost to attend is $15.00 for adult, $10.00 for kids 6-12 and ages 5 and under are free with adult admission. The Beer Garden will be open at 3pm
Bags Tournament Registration: 5:30-6:00pm , $50.00 Entry Fee Per Team, Tournament Starts at 6:30pm $1,000 To First Place, $500 To Second Place Buck A Roo Bash : 6:30 Pm $10.00 Kid Entry Fee: Come join the fun of Muttion Bustin, Calf Scramble and Donkey Dressing
Will once again be assisting the Monroe County Fair Board and putting on one of the best shows in Southern Iowa on Saturday night in the Grandstand for 2026 Monroe County Fair! Always a favorite among Monroe County and surrounding residents – we are certain it will be another one for the books, as we are excited to announce that we are expecting another year with a huge purse payout – $10,000!!! With a $1,000 Hard Charger Award! Life size trophy’s will also be given out. Cost to attend is $15.00 for adult, $10.00 for kids 6-12, and ages 5 and under are free with adult admission. The Beer Garden will open at 5pm, the Derby is scheduled to start at 7:00pm. *Car and Driver admission is $50.00 to enter paid at the pit gate. Each person in the pits (non drivers) will pay $20.00 at the pit gate entrance. Waivers will be available for all in the pit area to sign.
